Just found the rest of the people I was supposed to visit PICNIC with. Will keep you posted on the presentations for this afternoon!
We went outside for a walk past several artists and designers presenting their work in tents. I had the privilige of listening to satellites using Yolande Harris' GPS headphones. At the moment we're taking a break at the waterside, since this afternoon's special will not begin for another twenty minutes.
And we're back in our seats! Matt Hanson, project lead of A Swarm of Angels gave an interesting presentation about this project and in particular about community-powered projects. A Swam of Angels is a movie created by thousands of people, all collaborating to create movie trailers, poster art and eventually the movie itself.
At the moment we're listening to José Luis de Vicente, who unfortunately is a little hard to understand due to his accent. His presentation is about different ways to visualise information using different kinds of graphs.
Please bear with us. We're trying to sit through promotional talk of someone from openad.net. I just don't get why they invited her, since nobody planned on coming here to listen to invitations to join some commercial website... What a bummer!
Stay tuned for the next update!
